TOFT Show team wanting out of quarantine to go to the BrItish Alpaca Futurity at the Ricoh, roll on. Thursday

The TOFT Show team are all ready to go again at the Ricoh Arena Coventry this weekend at the British Alpaca Futurity. Will they do as fantastically well as at the British Alpaca Society National Show a couple of weeks ago? Who knows . Another day another judge anything can happen. If one knew the beforehand what the outcome would be there wouldn't be a point to going would there? Here's wishing everyone who attends a great weekend and much success- including ourselves. 

Well let's get real it is a competition after all !

TOFT show team drying out in anticipation...

The first elite TOFT combatants in 2015 alpaca show season are busily standing on the hill in the wind drying out for the British Alpaca Society National Show this weekend. The dry spell this week couldn't have come at a better time. Hopefully by the time they leave for the Telford Exhibition centre on Friday for the Nationals these fine fleeced boys and girls will be dry enough to show of their best. 

However they will be competing against almost 400 of the best alpacas in the UK so we shall be very pleased to find our boys and girls in the frontline never mind being placed. If we knew the outcome before we attend it wouldn't be worth going. Regardless of the results we are getting excited now and really looking forward  to catching up with everything alpaca over the weekend.

Alpaca fleeces have been judged - let the Alpacan Textile Show begin...

Shirley finished the last of the fleeces yesterday evening and the organisers have this morning to distribute the Alpacan rosettes to the prizewinners and get the fleeces on display by late morning when in 'civilised time' Fibratex 2014 will begin. 

I'm sure this will be the start of great things for Alpacan and the Cantabrian Alpaca breeders. It certainly won't be for the lack of trying Alison Boyden has done the work of ten Duracell bunnies to get this Showcase on the road and there are some fascinating exhibits in the hall. Champion alpacas at the Dundalk agricultural show

First halter show completed  and Shirley is posing for pickies with her champion and reserve.

Both champion and reserve alpaca are owned by Damien Dyar of Burren alpacas who unfortunately could not attend the show but his son on the left and his trusty helper were over the moon with the results. 

Congratulations to Burren alpacas on a great result. Congratulations to the Dundalk Agricultural show for hosting a charming alpaca event and congratulations to all the members of the Ireland Alpaca Association for their good humour and jot throughout!
